Goan Bimbla Uddamethi Recipe

  • To start preparing Goan Bimbla Uddamethi’s recipe, wash Bimbla 3-4 times. Cut them into very small cubes.

  • In a heavy bottom pan, brings a cup of water to the boil and add the chopped Bimbla. Let the Bimbla sit in boiling water until they soften.

  • In the meantime, grind the grated coconut together with the red chilli pepper and turmeric powder using a spoonful of water.

  • Add the coconut paste in the boiled Bimbla. Also add Jaggery to the pan.

  • Add a little water just to thin it and let this mixture boil.

  • While the curry boils, prepares the temperament.

  • In a fiery pan over medium heat. Add fenas seeds, urad dal, mustard seeds and curry leaves. Cover and let the seeds creak over low heat. Once the mustard seeds were crackled, add asfefeotida and remove from the fire.

  • Pour this temperament on hot curry.

  • Add salt according to your tastes. Mix the mixture until everything is combined.

  • Remove from the heat and Bimbla Uddamethi is ready

  • Serve Bimbla Uddamethi with steam rice and mixed vegetables Ajethna recipe (mixed vegetable Mangalorea Sabzi) for a full meal.
