Nicole’s recipe notes
This recipe is only for fun! There are tons of recipes for this type of Easter cookies on the web. But I had heard that you could buy GF Chow Mein Noodles and I wanted to prove it!
I also secured that I tried this simple recipe without recovery with Pretzel GF sticks. They are available everywhere and some recipes that I have seen for these delicacies accidentally claim to be gluten -free because you can “use the pretzel”.
If you break the pretzel sticks in half, right in the center, to create 2 half equal, you can definitely do with them nests covered with chocolate. But I will not lie to you: it is much more difficult to let the chocolate -coated chocolate eggs remain at the top.
If you like the idea of chocolate without biscuits but you don’t want all the ingredients’ supply problems, perhaps just follow our recipe without oatmeal. But you are not yet happy to see you Candies Do you create bird nests, even if you don’t really do it?

What’s inside
Selection and substitutions of the ingredients
Gluten -free noodles chow mein
The Gefen brand produces authentic Gluten -free noodles chow mein. They have a “refined” noodle, which is ideal for this recipe, and a “wide” noodle, which is not very large but is more flat than I used.
The large noodle was more available, but in the name of authenticity, I ordered the thin noodles by Amazon. In my personal experience, they came carefully packaged and they were not stratii or broken, like many of the previous reviews of Amazon say.
If you can’t find GF crunchy noodles chow mein, you can use gluten -free pretzel sticks to create this recipe. Break every pretzel stick in the center or you will not be able to collect the mixture.

I also think that cereals of corn chex would make a great crunchy replacement for noodle. The shape would not be so similar, but I think they would be easier to work than the pretzels and the flavor even better.
Chocolate
You can use chocolate chips here instead of chopped chocolate cooking. It will only take some time to melt. Just use something that you love the taste and that would be fine with any flavored potato chosen.
Flavored chips
I used chips Nestle Brand Butterscotch Brand, but you can use white chocolate chips, caramel -flavored chips or even chips flavored with peanut butter. Read the labels carefully, since many of the flavored chips are not gluten -free. Or you can simply use 6 ounces of more chocolate and forget to add aromas.
Cadbury Mini Eggs
These chocolate miniature -shaped candies with milk chocolate covered with candies are one of the best things of this period of the year. Putting some of them over the chocolate “nest” is what makes these biscuits so funny. If you don’t like them or you can’t have those eggs, you can always use 3 smaller jelly beans. If you love those small seasonal eggs like me, you have to try our gluten -free cadbury egg biscuits! Lots of goodness of gluten -free Easter!
Dairy-Senza Lacticini
If you need to make sure this recipe is made of milk, be sure to select flavored milk chocolate flavored chips (or jump completely the chips and simply use more chocolate). The Noodles Gefen Chow Mein are made of milk, but Cadbury eggs contain milk, so you should instead use the jellies.
Egg without eggs
There are eggs in the Gefen Chow Mein Noodles, so you should instead use the gluten -free pretzel sticks.

-
Assign a large flat surface with parchment paper and put it aside.
-
Place the chocolate and butterscotch chips in a medium -sized heat bowl (or microwave power supply).
-
Dissate the mixture on a double boiler, mixing frequently, or in short explosions of about 20 seconds each in the microwave, mixing in the middle, until it has melted and smooth.
-
The flavored chips will take longer to melt compared to chocolate cooking, and even longer than chocolate chips if you use those instead of cooking chocolate. Do not rush and use too much warmth or the chocolate will be grasped.
-
Leave the melted mixture to rest, mixing frequently, until it is no longer hot to the touch. Otherwise, noodles can have a stale flavor.
-
Place the Chow Mein Noodles above the melted chocolate mixture.
-
Using a silicone spatula, turn the mixture to mix gently with A until all the pieces are covered in the chocolate mixture.
-
Using a medium -sized spring ice cream ball or two tablespoons, collect the mixture in 10 portions, each of about 2 tablespoons of volume.
-
Release the mixture in mounds on parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches with each other.
-
Put 3 candies at the center of each tumulus and press gently to help them adhere.
-
Leave up to not hot (about 15 minutes), then place the biscuits, still on paper and on the flat surface, in the refrigerator to cool until it is completely set (about 30 minutes). When they are completely set, they will no longer be brilliant and can be easily moved from paper.
If you can find or are willing to order them, use the Gefen Brand’s Noodles Chow Mein for this recipe. Otherwise, you can use “wide” noodles with the same brand or gluten -free pretzle sticks. Break in half every stick Pretzel, then proceed with the recipe as a writing.
About the flavored chips.
I used chips Nestle Brand Butterscotch Brand, but you can use white chocolate chips, caramel -flavored chips or even chips flavored with peanut butter. Read the labels carefully, since many of the flavored chips are not gluten -free.

Storage instructions
After setting, you can keep these biscuits in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a maximum of 1 week. A flat and rectangular container is the best. Just place a sheet of parchment paper between layers of biscuits.
For longer conservation, you can freeze them for a maximum of 1 month and then defrost in the refrigerator. Most likely the chocolate will “flourish” or will develop some white stripes, but the flavor will not change (only the appearance). The noodles could become a little stanching in the freezer.
