Take note of the ingredients
You can find everything you need at Asian markets or Asian grocery stores. Head to the recipe card at the bottom of this post for all the measurements!
- Tamarind paste – You can make tamarind paste with fresh tamarind pods or pulp (check my tamarind sauce recipe for details), but for this tea I used tamarind concentrate for convenience – it’s easy to find in most supermarkets .
- Black tea – I used Lipton yellow labelpopular for iced teas. If you’re looking for a caffeine-free version, rooibos (red tea) adds a nice earthy note, or choose hibiscus if you want a fruity touch.
- Honey – This recipe uses honey, but feel free to adjust the sweetness. If you’re out of honey, a neutral sugar syrup works just as well.
- Waterfall
- Lime or lemon (optional)
