Easy Nasi Goreng Recipe with step by step images. A recipe that was on my GO list for a while is this Nasi Goreng dish. It is easy to prepare and have such a good flavor. There are few ways to make this Nasi Goreng and this is my easy version that is super delicious.

On fried rice

Nasi Goreng is a popular Indonesian dish that translates into “fried rice” into English. It is a tasty and salty fried rice plate. Nasi Goreng is a basic food in Indonesia and is appreciated as the main dish for lunch or dinner.

Usually made with chicken but also shrimp can be used. If you are a vegetarian, instead use the tofu. We served this with fried egg, but I have another version in which I refurbished the egg in the rice.

Nasi Goreng is often associated with Indonesia, but it is also a popular dish in Malaysia. Both Indonesia and Malaysia have their versions of Nasi Goreng and the dish has become part of the culinary heritage of both countries.

Cooked rice – Use long parmesan rice that is cooked and cooled. I like to use Jasmine Rioce cooked in my Nasi Goreng. Cook the rice in a pan with 1: 2 ratio, I like to use 2 cups of water for every 1 cup of rice. Make sure to wash the rice very well before cooking. The remaining rice is also preferred in fried rice.

Protein – Proteins such as chicken, prawns, beef, pork is used in Nasi Goreng. Vegetarians can opt for tofu, tempeh, mushrooms.

Vegetables – Traditionally long beans are used in Goreng Nasi. Carrots, peas, beans can be used.

Egg – Eggs can be climbed in fried rice when they do it. But I like to overcome my fried rice with a fried egg.

Space and sauces – The main aromas for Nasi Goreng are the aromatic Sambal we jump. Saghetti, prawn pasta, garlic, chillies are ground and greeted to begin with. I used the chicken boulilion cube instead of prawn paste. Kecap Manis (sweet soy sauce) is mainly used for color and sweet taste. The soy sauce is also added.

Optional ingredients

  • Shrimp paste (therapies): it is a traditional ingredient used in some recipes of Nasi Goreng to add the Umami flavor.
  • Lime Kaffir leaves: these perfumed leaves can be added for a citrus aroma.
  • Limongrass: some recipes require lemongrass to add a refreshing taste.
  • Sambal: a spicy pepper sauce that can be served on the side or mixed on the plate for extra heat.

Make dressing paste

To make Nasi Goreng. Take shallot, garlic, peppers and Maggi’s stock cube in a blender and puree until coarsely mixed. If you use the shrimp paste, instead of the Stock Cube, you can use the prawn paste for the authentic touch.

Fried eggs

Heat a wok over high heat. Add oil and let it shiny. Now break an egg in the wok and cook until it is crunchy. Remove it using a shaken spoon and set aside.

Make the rice act fry

In the same wok, add the pasta to the ground and brown over low heat for 3 minutes to aromatic. Add the chicken and shake for a minute. Connect with salt, 2 tablespoons of Kecap Manis and brown for 4-5 minutes until cooking. Add the green beans and shake for a minute. Add the cooked rice, the remaining Kecap Manis, the soy sauce, the salt, the sugar and the fry to make sure that the sauce covers every grain of rice.

Fried rice service

Now to serve Nasi Goreng. Spoonful of fried rice on a serving dish, on top of fried shallots, spring onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, lemon wedges and add everything with fried egg. Serve hot.

How to do Nasi Goreng (gradual images)

Cooking rice

1) Start by cooking rice. Wash the rice with jasmine in different changes of water. Take it in a sauce pot. For 1 cup of rice Add 2 cups of water. Bring everything to the boil. Cook the pot on low heat and cook for 10 minutes over low heat until all the water is absorbed. Put aside for 10 minutes. Now use a fork to launch the rice. Remove the rice on a plate and refrigerate until it is necessary.

2) To make Nasi Goreng. Take shallot, garlic, chillies in a blender.

3) The prawn paste is traditionally added in this, but I have not used it. Instead I added the Magazzino Cube Maggi in the same blender.

4) Pure until coarsely mixed. Set aside.

5) Heat a wok over high heat. Add oil and let it shiny. Now break an egg in the wok and cook until it is crunchy. Remove it using a shaken spoon and set aside.

Make the rice act fry

6) In the same wok, add the pasta to the ground and brown over low heat for 3 minutes to aromatic.

7) Once it is caramelized and cooked. The raw smell of the shallots, garlic should become aromatic.

8) Add the chicken and shake for a min. I used pieces of diced chicken thigh. Make sure it is cut into small pieces. You can also use the chicken breast.

10) For color and flavor add 2 tablespoons of Kecap Manis.

18) Mix to make sure the sauce covers every grain of rice. Distribute the rice through the wok in a layer and cook over high heat for 3 minutes. This step makes rice crunchy around the edges and makes it fantastic.
