Hidden in the mountains in the common stones of the Costa di Amalfita campaign arriving here will literally take your breath while your eyes try to take beauty. While you wind over the garden and enter a courtyard, the roses climb the walls of tormented stone of the house, the screws creep along a trellis that shades a beautifully set farm table, the aprons break in the breeze from a laundry rope and an outdoor kitchen built around a wood pizza oven that leave the place in a beautiful mountain views.

Felicia greeted Brian Hart Hoffman and I with a great one Bongiorno AND welcome It seemed a hug from our Italian family lost for some time. While showing us his internal cuisine, certainly the heart of any Italian house, the beautiful ingredients were arranged on the counter like a dead painting. We immediately felt at home and we couldn’t wait to learn Felicia’s pasta techniques. Brian and I followed while guiding us through his process of preparation and dough for the pasta, which we would then have modeled and cut in different ways, from the traditional fettuccina to trofieA form of perfect twisted pasta to absorb the lemon sauce with which it would have been subsequently served. The pizza dough was mixed for a rest before being stretched in the round in the outdoor kitchen with the ingredients from the garden at hand. The fresh basil was abundant, as well as the bunches of sweet tomatoes and heated by the Brian sun could not stop jumping in the mouth, garlic heads, homemade tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella. Once the pizzas are completed, Felicia used a wooden pizza peel to add them to the oven and turn as needed. Here, everything was cooked by the senses of Felicia, without a timer in sight.

While the hot pizzas Margherita came out of the oven, we gathered around the table for a memorable lunch with Felicia and her daughter, Giovanna. Felicia brought an incredible dish after dish from her kitchen: slopes of melon seasoned with salty ham, caprese salad, bruschetta, trofie with a lemon sauce, fettuccine simply cooked with tomatoes and the incredible lemon tiramis that we have ever tasted … so good, in fact, we knew that she had simply cooked the cover of this problem. Light, ethereal and illuminated with the right amount of limoncello and lemon, the dessert was perfection. Our smiles were great and our hearts were full after a delicious day with Felicia and his family.
