Your classic pie melts with ground meat, Swiss cheese and caramelized onions has just received an update. We are doing them with canned meat.



What is a skate?
Patty melts is a cross between a hamburger and a grilled cheese sandwich. They are made of layers of bread with a cooked ground beef hamburger, caramelized onions and cheese.
The sandwich is cooked on a plate like a grilled cheese sandwich, creating a crunchy and buttery crust with a cheese center.

Heat crushing: 425F heat slama or medium heat (see the notes below).

PREP Patties: Roll up the earth meat in 4 balls. (See notes below)

Grill Patties: Sprinkle some oil on the plate. Put the balls on the plate. Destroy. Cook 4-5 min. Reversal. Cook 2-3 min. Remove and set aside.

Cook Bipions: Add more plate oil. Add onions. Brown, until tender.

Prep bread: Butter one side of each slice of bread. Add a thousand island on the other side of 2 slices.

Sandwich Grill: Add 2 slices of bread on the side of the plaster butter downwards, thousands of islands upwards. Top each in this order: 1 cake, half of the onions, 1 1/2 slices of cheese, second cake, 1 1/2 slices of cheese and slice of butter -coated bread. Cook until golden brown. Reversal. Cook until golden brown.
If you are using a blackstone or others in style plate, set the temperature on 425f.
If you use a large cast iron pan, adjust the temperature over medium heat.
To prepare minced canned meat, Rinse the chest in brine in cold water. Cut it into cubes and elaborate it through a flesh’s grinder. You will need 1 pound for this recipe. If you have an extra, use it for PastraMi sausages or Pastrami meatballs.

Ingredients


- Boxing beef: Look for a point that has already been in brine. You will find them in the grocery store around the day of San Patrizio.
- Onion: Use large onion. The white onion or the sweet yellow onion both work.
- Rye bread: Any bread works big, but rye bread is a staple for the sandwiches for Gastrami.
- Swiss cheese: Plan 3 slices for sandwich.
- Butter: Use the softened salted butter to spread on the bread before grilling. If you use non -salted butter, add a pinch of Kosher salt to the sandwich after cooking it.
- Thousand Island: This is a classic flavor for Sandwich Pastrami, so it works very well with this recipe of skates.
- Oil: I use avocado oil, but any high -heat oil will work.
Substitutions: If you can't find a point cut corned beef, flat cut will work too. You can also make this with a brisket that you corn yourself. This recipe can also be made with white bread, wheat bread or sourdough bread. Instead of two layers of melted Swiss, substitute one layer with American cheese for a creamier sandwich.

How to prepare minced canned meat
Remove the canned meat from the package. Rinse it under cold water. Cut it into cubes. Then, perform it through a flesh -frost.

How to cook a skate
I used Ninja Flexflame to cook this recipe. I set the grid on the roast/cooking setting and the temperature at 425F. If you are using any other grid, set the temperature on 425f. If you are using a large cast iron pan, place it on the stove over medium heat.
- Step one: Roll the beef in the ground box in 4 balls. Sprinkle some oil on the preheated plate. Place the balls on the hot plate and use a Heavy press To destroy them. Cook for 4-5 minutes.


PRO TIP: If you're worried about the burger patties sticking to the press, place a piece of parchment paper on the patty first.
- Step two: Reversal. Cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.


- Third step: Add more plate oil. Add the onions and brown until they are tender.


- Passage Quattro: Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. Add a thousand island to the other side of 2 slices. Add 2 pieces of bread on the side of the plates on plates downwards, thousands of islands upwards. Top each with 1 cake, half of the onions, 1 1/2 slices of cheese, second cake, 1 1/2 slices of cheese, slice of bread with a buttered air upwards.


- Step five: Cook until golden brown. Use a large spatula to turn it upside down. Cook until the cheese and cheese is dissolved.


How to serve the canned beef cake melts
Once the cake is removed, it melts from the plate, serve them immediately while they are still hot. These two -storey sandwiches are huge, so they are a meal alone.
Cut them into neighborhoods for the appetizers for the day of play or on the day of San Patrizio.


Warehouse
This Sandwich does not repair well because the bread will become mollicicci. If you want to arrive, cook the meatballs and ground beef onions and keep them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for a maximum of 3 days.
When you are ready, build and grill your sandwiches over medium-low heat.
