This is my Mediterranean interpretation of chicken nachos and let me tell you: it is a dream full of flavor! I love to serve these healthy Nachos -style healthy for random meetings and game evenings, but it also makes an easy and fun dinner for my small family of four.

Instead of Tortilla chips, I use my crunchy fries such as the base, stratifying them with hot and spicy spicy chicken, a bright Mediterranean sauce and herbaceous with fresh olives and mint and crispy red onions. Instead of a pile of grated cheese, I add a generous creamy wire. Each bite is full of contrast of plot and flavors of the great Mediterranean.

If you plan in advance and you have the onions in brine, the pita chips and the feta dressing prepared in advance, everything that remains is to cook the chicken and therefore the assembly is a children’s game. Put everything on a large dish, serve in a family style and look at these healthy nachos disappear!

Ingredients for Mediterranean chicken nachos

This healthy Nacho recipe inspired by the Mediterranean focuses on fresh and bold flavors. When it comes to fun dinners and holidays this is the recipe you want in the rear pocket and here’s what you need to do it at home!

For the sauce

  • Rome Tomatoes: The juicy and spicy chopped tomatoes create the base of the sauce. Seed or drain them if they are very juicy so that they don’t make your pita chips!
  • JalapeñoFinely chopped, adds the right amount of slight heat. Remove the seeds for a milder flavor or exchange a serno pepper if you like your nachos even more spicy.
  • Kalamata olives: Toast and rich olives Give the sauce a salty punch and a Mediterranean touch. Make sure they are sought!
  • Fresh herbs: A perfume fragrant with parsley and mint illuminates the sauce with a lot of fresh flavor.
  • Sumac: This spicy spice adds a depth of citrus to the sauce without adding liquid. Read more below and find my favorite Sumac in our shop.
  • Lemon juice It improves the brightness of the sauce and adds that signed citrus flavor.
  • Extra virgin olive oil: A drizzle of good olive oil completes the flavors of the sauce. Try it with Pepato Arbequina olive oil from California.

For chicken

  • Chicken: Baded and leather -free chicken breasts quickly cooking in juicy bites. I like to cut them into thin stripes and small in size so that they are easy to collect on top of a pita chip.
  • Onion Adds succosity and sweet taste once skipped. I like to let it get a nice dark color in the pan so that the sugars caramelize and even charred a little and get the good and smoky depth!
  • Garlic It adds its wonderful sweet and pungent flavor to the low -cut chicken cut.
  • Spices: Only two spices give Mediterranean flavor chicken. Implice Adds hot, terrosity and Sumac A spicy football.
  • Kosher and black pepper salt salt: I could not do without these simple condiments that improve the flavor.
  • Lemon: A last citrus juice unites everything and ensures that the chicken is juicy!

Serve

  • Red onions in brine Having a spicy bite that makes this chicken nachos recipe even more appetizing.
  • Cremoso condiment feta: This creamy, salty and spicy rain stands out for the usual melted cheese in this plate of healthy Nachos: binds everything together!
  • Pita Chips: You can’t have nachos without chips. Use your favorite chips for the shop or prepare your own lot!

Spotlight Ingredient

One of the key flavors in traditional nachos is the acute flavor of fresh lime juice. While Lemon is an excellent stand-in in this Mediterranean version, I also like to add Sumac to amplify both the chicken and the sauce with an even more spicy flavor.

Sumac is a dry spice made by sumac berries on the ground. It has an acute, spicy and earthy flavor that I love in savory dishes. Sumac’s astringency increases salty flavors in the same way that acid or salt improves flavor.

What to serve with chicken nachos

This chicken nachos recipe is infinitely riffidable. If you generally like to add beans to your nachos, try this with some crunchy roasted chickpeas. When it comes to sauces and extras, try the spoons of avocado cream or the citrus avocado sauce for a Mediterranean turning point on the guacamole.

These chicken nachos ask to be combined with a refreshing drink. When I have people above I like to provide options, so I tend to serve something and something without alcohol. Depending on the season, mount a lot of fishing lemonade for those who abstain from alcohol or a white sangria for those who abandon themselves a little.

If you want to serve these Nachos as an appetizer to nourish a crowd, complete the meal with Greek lamb hamburgers or salmon tacos.
