Why should you cook Thai for your children?
Cooking Thai food for your children is a great way to present them to new flavors and ingredients. There is a huge variety of healthy dishes with unique tastes and plots to explore.
A big difference between Thailand and the western world is that, in Thailand, parents encourage their children to try everything, and I mean everything. The favorite food of my little brother? Noodles with fish sauce, vegetables and for desserts, Durian (he is only 4 years old!).
A great thing about this approach is that when children are introduced to a wide variety of flavors and ingredients, they tend to grow up by eating almost everything!
In this post, I am sharing delicious and easy Thai meals for children. Each recipe is accompanied by photos, showing you step by step how to create dishes that everyone will love.
The best Thai foods for children
Here are some super tasty dishes for children who are also perfect for younger eaters. You will probably recognize some of these dishes, but I also have included some less known to keep things exciting.
Thai pad

Pad Thai is a classic dish of noodle that children never have enough, thanks to its delicate, sweet and spicy flavors. Fried rice noodles are launched in a tasty Thai sauce with eggs and your favorite proteins.
The slippery noodles are so fun to block and you can always add a sprinkling of chilli flakes for adults!
PAD MEE

When I was a child, I had Mee pads on a weekly basis! The fried vermicelli noodles are a basic meal for Thai children because of their delicate flavors and adults love to enjoy them as a side dish with papaia salad.
The best part of this recipe is its simplicity. Garlic, eggs, noodles, green onions and a delicious mixture of fried sauces make it easy and satisfactory.
Tree -tree spring rolls

Crumber spring rollers with a tasty immersion sauce: who doesn’t love them? These are the favorite favorites and, with my recipe, you will learn how to make the best perfect rolls for small hands.
Fill them with vegetables and lean proteins such as prawns or chicken to give your children a nourishing meal. They are also delicious and healthy (and always crunchy) if made in the air!
Dessert Bua Loy (rice balls in coconut milk)

Bua Loy is the absolute favorite dessert of my nephew! It is the perfect family business for weekends: everyone can join to roll those pretty rice flour balls. In addition, it is a pleasure that is even better if cold, which makes it ideal for those hot summer days.
The creamy base of coconut milk with soft and rubbery rice balls is something unique that the whole family will love.
Moo Ping (grilled pork skewers)

Moo Ping is a favorite of street food, often found sore in the morning markets in Thailand. The marinade is perfectly suitable for everyone, with a balance of sweet and savory flavors that children and adults will love.
You can do these skewers in advance and freeze them for later, making them a convenient option for the demanding days. And of course, they are increasingly appreciated with a little Tai -stick rice on the side!
Thai fried rice (Khao Pad)

Thai fried rice is a simple and fast dish that is perfect for weekdays. It is also a fantastic way to use the remaining rice and turn it into something delicious. You can launch diced vegetables and your children will barely notice: they will be too busy enjoying the tasty and salty goodness!
If you are looking for a few varieties of fried rice, make sure you try my delicious fried rice with Thai pineapple!
Thai Sukiyaki

Thai Sukiyaki is a favorite of family meetings in Thailand, just like Mookata (Thai Bbq). This dish can be served with or without the spicy sauce Suki, making it adaptable to all taste preferences.
You can include all the proteins you like, together with a wide variety of vegetables, making it a versatile and satisfactory meal for everyone around the table.
Som Tum Thai (papaia salad)

Som tum thai, without chillies please! Papaia is incredibly healthy and, with this interesting salad, you can present to your children a completely new world of delicious flavors. The crunchy green papaia mixed with a spicy dressing of lime creates a refreshing dish that is nourishing and fun to eat.
Thai salads are very popular in Thailand, even among the youngest. It is simply a matter of presenting them from a young age.
Khao Taen (crunchy rice cakes)

The grandiose thing of Khao Taen, Thai crunchy rice cakes, is that you can do them in advance and keep them for days. They are perfect for packing your children’s lunches and will surely make new friends who will be curious where these delicacies come!
Thai chicken satay with peanut sauce

Satay chicken is a fantastic choice in Thai restaurants because it is a dish that everyone can taste, from children to adults. The tender and marinated chicken skewers are grilled to perfection and are equipped with a creamy peanut sauce which is simply irresistible. In my opinion, one of the best Thai dishes for children!
Spite

Rasato ice is another favorite in Thailand, especially among children. It is super easy to do at home with a little crushed ice and you can find a variety of condiments in Asian food stores. Your children will worship this Thai dessert and you will worship how easy it is to put together.
Yellow curry

If you want to present your children a Thai curry, it is better to start with a yellow chicken curry. It is the most mild of all, and abundant potatoes are added in my recipe. You can also try this vegan yellow curry and adjust the recipe to include your favorite protein.
Sacchi of Thai money

The bags of money are another appetizer that is really fun to make with the children (and even more fun to make a snack on). Your little ones will love bending the wraps and golden and crunchy bites will quickly become a favorite of the family. They are super crunchy and simply delicious. Serve them with your favorite immersion sauce!
Cook for children advice and tricks
- Keep it delicate: Begins with dishes that have delicate flavors – nothing too spicy, just enough to arouse their interest in Thai food without overwhelming them.
- Involve them: Children are more likely to eat something if they have had a hand to make it. From their funny homework how to mix sauces, fold the gnocchi or even collect ingredients in the shop.
- The plot is the key: Children love foods that are fun to eat. Think of smooth and sores of Slu noodles such as Pad see EW, chicken bites such as Thai fried chicken and crunchy vegetables.
- Transform the kitchen into a game: Make cooking a playful experience. Create a mini cooking show or make a friendly competition to see who can roll the best spring rolls. The more fun they have, the more they want to eat what they have done.
