Tips to prepare gouda mac and cheese
Before jumping to create your Mac and your cheese, take a look at some of these tips to help you bring your dinner to the perfection of Ooey-Goey:
- Cook the noodles to soften. This Mac and cheese have the best flavor with noodles that are just softened. You don’t want to creak in your noodles, but don’t leave them too cooked until they become too soft or flawed.
- Make it creamy! For an even more creamy sauce, add a ½ and a half cup or whole milk to the cast iron pan when preparing the sauce. This will add a little additional humidity and extra sauce for your noodles.
- Add a few mix-in. If you want a little more flavor or creak in your Mac and cheese, I recommend sprinkling your Mac with bread crumbs, crumbled bacon or sausage. You cannot make mistakes with Jalapeños Sottaceto, green chillies or even some chopped herbs.
- Heat it! For an additional spice, mix 2 tablespoons of Frank’s red buffalo sauce or ¼ teaspoon of cayenna pepper with the noodles and sauce.
