Ground turkey pepper
When time becomes cold, there is nothing more comforting than a warm bowl of chilli pepper. With this easy turkey chilli pepper, you get all the welcoming vibrations without the heaviness of traditional beef versions. Made with lean turkey, a colorful mix of vegetables and a bold homemade chili dressing, this recipe is perfect for dinners of the week, meetings for the game day or every time you want something hot and filling.
It meets in less than an hour and is full of flavor, consistency and the right amount of heat. Let’s do some chili pepper!
What kind of turkey does it go to chili pepper?
When preparing turkey chilli, we recommend using ground turkey. Most food stores offer some options, generally ranging from 85 to 99%. I recommend using 93% lean turkey, which offers a good balance of flavor while being thinner than beef. The slender version of 99% can sometimes be too dry, while the 85% version has a little more fat (although even less than ground meat).
If you feel adventurous, you can also use minced turkey thigh meat, which has a little more fat and flavor than the standard ground turkey.

What’s in turkey pepper?
Do not confuse turkey pepper with white chicken chilli pepper. Both are alternatives based on traditional beef pepper poultry, but they are quite different dishes.
This recipe for turkey pepper follows the same style as the classic red chilli pepper with tomatoes, beans and traditional condiments. Only with the ground turkey instead of the beef. White chicken chilli pepper, on the other hand, uses chicken, white beans and a creamy base with green chillies for a completely different aromatic profile.

Homemade pepper space
This warm chili pepper combines meager ground turkey with a mixture of vegetables and spices so that it can be done totally from scratch. Here’s what you need if you want to do your dressing:
- Türkiye of earth: The most streamlined main protein that still offers great flavor and consistency
- Vegetables: Yellow onion, red pepper, jalapeño and garlic create a tasty base
- Beans: The beans add cardiac, consistency and vegetable proteins
- Tomatoes: A combination of tomato paste, tomato sauce and cubborn tomatoes creates a rich depth
- Beef broth: Adds the salty flavor that completes the turkey
- Spaces: My homemade chilli dressing combines everything with the perfect balance of spices
- Brown sugar: Just a touch to balance the acidity of the tomatoes
If the heat is not for you, you can adjust the heat level by adding more or less cayenna pepper. Making your dressing allows you to complete control over the aromatic profile and helps you avoid preservatives and excess sodium that are in the packages purchased in the shop.
My rubbing of Fiesta also works as a great condiment of chili pepper if you don’t feel ready to make your lot.

How to prepare turkey pepper
Making this chilli pepper is simple and rewarding. Here’s how to do it:
- Brown the turkey. Heat the olive oil in a large and heavy pot over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook for 4-5 minutes until golden brown, breaking it in smaller pieces while cooking. Since Turkey does not have as fat as the meat, be careful not to cook it or can become dry.
- Add aromatic. Mix the diced onion, the pepper and the jalapeño. Cook for 4-5 minutes until softened and fragrant. Add the chopped garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Add wet ingredients. Pour the beef broth, making sure to scrape the bottom of the pan with the wooden spatula to release any golden pieces (which is flavor!). Add the beans (drained and rinsed), tomato paste, tomato sauce and diced tomatoes.
- Season and simmer: Mix the homemade chilli dressing and brown sugar. Cover the pot, reduce the heat to the bottom and cook over low heat for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent combustion. This slow cooking process allows flavors to merge together while thickening the pepper to the perfect consistency.
- Serve. Top with your favorite and fun contours!

Archiving and heating
This turkey pepper is perfect for the preparation of meals as it is beautifully stored and often has an even better flavor the next day while the flavors continue to develop.
- Refrigerator: Leave the remaining pepper to cool at room temperature, then transfer to hermetic containers to refrigerate up to 4 days.
- Freezer: For a longer storage, freeze in containers in size of a portion or freezer bags for a maximum of 3 months. Make sure to label with the date.
- Heating: For the refrigerated chilli, heat on the medium-low flower, stirring occasionally until it is heated. Add a splash of broth if it is too dense. For frozen chili pepper, defrost during the night in the refrigerator before heating or heating directly from frozen using a lower heat and a longer cooking time.
Add new seasonings after heating for the best consistency and flavor.
