Easy Tzatziki sauce

My favorite Greek restaurant in the city produces the best Tzatziki sauce. I love the fresh and fresh flavor in contrast to the hot gyroscopic meat. I mean, I could literally sit down and eat it with a spoon! Of course, I always order it with my gyros and my chips, but I bring home the exit to be used with fresh vegetables for a quick snack.

I was rather surprised to learn that this sauce is really easy to prepare at home. Both my taste buds and my wallet thank me for having this fantastic recipe that I can make every time that fresh and spicy sauce will be craving. I hope you try it too!

What is Tzatziki sauce?

Tzatziki sauce is a creamy cucumber yogurt sauce made with fresh cucumbers, lemon juice, dill and other seasonings. It is served as a cold appetizer, a dip or as a sauce seasoned on grilled meats, giros, souvlaki and more.

Tzatziki sauce pronunciation

Since it is Greek, the name of this sauce is pronounced in a way that may seem different on the language for most of us Westerners. The “TZ” sound is sweetly mixed, more similar to a “DZ”. Try it in this way: “Dzah Dzee Kee”.

Suggestions for recipes

  • You can use grated cucumber instead of cutting it if you prefer a more fluid plot. Use a grated, but you could also use a food processor. In any case, make sure to drain the excess humidity from the cucumbers very well before using. I like to tighten them with paper towels to absorb as liquid as possible.
  • All fresh condiments and herbs can be increased or decreased according to taste.
  • Add a little fresh mint if you wish!
  • You can use distilled white vinegar instead of lemon juice.
  • The traditional Tzatziki sauce USA TASA goat yogurt or sheep milk yogurt, but for convenience, all -round Greek yogurt works perfectly.
  • Sprinkle some olive oil at the top for an authentic Greek experience.
