Prevent the screen from becoming dark
In an average saucepan, add sugar, apple cider vinegar, powdered garlic, turmeric and mustard seeds. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, mixing until the sugar dissolves.
Add the sliced chillies to the boiling syrup. Reduce the heat to the medium and cook over low heat for 5-7 minutes, until they slightly soften and the jalapeños become a darker green.
Remove from the heat and let cool lightly. Using a perforated spoon, transfer to a clean jar.
Pour the hot syrup over the chillies into the jar, leaving about ¼ inch of space for the head. Seal the jar with a lid.
Leave the jar to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 24 hours before eating. The flavors will develop further over time!
