Sweet basil seed drink
I have always thought of the basil seeds / Sabja seeds as a seed of Falooda. But I was unable to find it in my super markets. Months ago when I went to Chennai and I had the opportunity to visit the walnut and spices shop, I was so excited to see that seed there. I immediately bought a package. So I studied a lot on these seeds and remaining aware of their medicinal properties, now I am using it in most of my drinks and I love it. I still have to try the famous Royal Falooda recipe.

Suggestions for experts
Always mix before serving: Sabja tends to settle at the bottom. Give a good mixing so that each sip has seeds, sweet and lemon in perfect balance.
Use jars or glass bottles if you go on: If you are preparing the drink in advance, keep it in a glass bottle in the refrigerator. It remains fresh and cold, ready to pour when guests arrive.
Add the lemon zest for an extra punch: Just scratching a little lemon peel in the drink that gives him a thin citrus aroma and has a super refreshing flavor, especially in summer.
Choose fresh lemons on bottle juice: The freshly squeezed lemon juice gives that bright and spicy calcium. Those in the bottle usually have an opaque and slightly bitter taste.

Faq
How long should I immerse Sabja seeds?
About 10-15 minutes are sufficient in water. They will disfigure and take that nice coat of jelly. If they are still crunchy inside, let them stay a little longer.
Can I instead use chia seeds?
You can, but the plot is a little different. Chia takes more time to immerse yourself and feels a little heavier. Sabja is faster and has a lighter and more slippery sensation.
Is this drink good for health?
Totally! It is excellent for cooling your body, helps with digestion and even makes you feel full longer, so it is also beautiful as a light snack.
Can I do it in advance?
Yes, but it is better to keep the lemon mixture and separated the seeds soaked. Mix them fresh when they serve, so the taste remains bright and fresh.
Why does my drink have a bitter taste sometimes?
Probably added lemon juice to the hot sugar syrup. Always let the syrup cool completely before mixing the lemon, it maintains the clean taste.
How to make it less sweet or more spicy?
Super easy, just adjust the sugar and lemon to your liking. There is no fixed rule here. I usually savor and change while I go.
Can I add other flavors to it?
YES! You can throw in the water of roses, mint, a splash of orange juice, everything you like. It’s a flexible drink, so play with it!
