To start preparing the orange flavored French Toast recipe, remove the crust from the bread slices. Cut diagonally into 2 parts. Keep aside.
Take the egg whites into a shallow bowl; add 2 teaspoons sugar, orange zest and orange juice. Beat lightly, mix well.
Stir the orange segments and 1 teaspoon sugar into the hung curd. Apply half a teaspoon of hanging curd on a diagonal slice of bread and sandwich with another diagonal slice of bread.
Repeat the operation with the rest of the bread. Dip the sandwich slices into the egg white mixture for a few seconds. Be careful not to get it too wet as the bread will become soggy and tear.
Heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil. Fry the French toast over medium heat until golden brown. Brush very lightly with butter. Sprinkle honey on top.
Serve orange-flavored French Toast for a classic weekend breakfast alongside a cup of hot coffee or mulled apple juice.
