People sat outside EY

On the seafront of Çalış Beach in Fethiye there is a separate set of four café bars – and for us it has a magnetic attraction. One of those places is EY’s bistro bar.

Golden hour outside EY’s Bistro Bar along Çalış Beach

Over the years, we have spent many hours in nearby Calisto.

And, relatively recently, EY was added to our small repertoire of places on Çalış beach where we like to sit.

This is because they moved from the small room next door to a much more spacious one.

Space to spread out and huge umbrellas outside, providing welcome shade from the sun in the summer months.

And as the sun sets in the sky, umbrellas are moved to protect customers from its heat and glare.

It’s the little things…

We have known the owner, Ender, for some time but have never gone to the previous incarnation of EY.

A much smaller place, friends who went there mostly talked about tarts, cakes, other desserts and coffee.

It’s not really our thing.

Now, EY’s Bistro Bar does what it says on the tin.

A bar that serves food.

The menu has grown, without being overwhelming, and we’ve loved the food we’ve had so far.

And we love the atmosphere there too.

The Mexican chicken wrap is fantastic

Situation (wrap) are always a good tester for me.

Not just the quantity of filling, but the quality of the filling – and I also like it when the lavaş bread is lightly seared.

As you can see, Mexican chicken dürüm has no shortage of tasty chicken pieces and spicy vegetables.

Barry ate the köfte dürüm which he really enjoyed and which I hadn’t thought to photograph that day.

Seafood pizza has many toppings

But it doesn’t take long for us to get used to it becoming a habit.

And our latest habit is to order a seafood pizza among ourselves, along with a portion of chips on the side.

Great weekend sharing food to pass the time whilst enjoying cold beers and seaside scenery.

The reason we order a portion of chips?

Because they are real chips!

Cooked twice for extra crunch: the perfect treat!

Real chips are ALWAYS popular

Since moving to the premises next to the larger headquarters, EY’s attracts a diverse group of customers: a younger audience, an older audience, Turkish and foreigners, locals and holidaymakers.

It’s part of the scene that gives that section of Çalış seafront a cheerful liveliness with occasional live music thrown in for good measure.

And when the winter months arrive, on warm sunny days we can sit outside with tables by the sea to admire the sunset.

And, on the coldest days, inside nice and cozy in front of the wood stove.

Handsome!
