This Cornstarch (corn starch pudding) is simple and very easy to make. The perfect afternoon snack or the simple dessert.

What is Cornstarch?
It is a popular dish made with milk, cornstarch (corn starch), vanilla, sugar and cinnamon. It is almost like an eggless vanilla pudding.
I sent an e-mail to all my cousins in Colombia trying to find this recipe. My grandmother made this pudding often when I grew up like an afternoon snack and a long time passed since I had it. I don’t know if it was time, but I want to Colander For a while. I did it last week and it was as comforting and tasted just like Mamita’s!

Ingredients you need
The printable recipe card with exact quantities and cooking indications is below.
Corn starch: It is necessary to use this main ingredient to create the Colada.
Milk: I recommend using whole milk to make this recipe.
Cinnamon: I like to use the sticks for the flavor.
Vanilla bean: The addition of whole beans adds a delicious vanilla flavor to the Colada.
Sugar: I like to use organic sugar for my recipe

Tips to create this recipe
I like to use an entire vanilla bean to create this recipe, but you can use vanilla extract if you prefer.
I recommend using whole milk when preparing Colada de Mazena, because I find that the consistency is more creamy with whole milk.
You can serve the hot colada or let it cool before serving it. If they refrigerate it, be sure to place a plastic casing on it.

How to do Colada de Mailena
- In an average bowl, mix the cornstarch or corn with 1 cup of milk together until the corn starch is dissolved and there are no lumps.
- Pour the rest of the milk, the sugar, the cinnamon stick and vanilla seeds in a medium pot, then gradually beat the corn starch mixture.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, banging constantly, until the Colada is thickened to the consistency of a thin pudding.
- Remove from the heat, discard the cinnamon stick and serve hot.

You can also adjust the amount of milk to adjust the consistency of the pudding. The same goes for the quantity of sugar and how sweet you are Colander. I like my dense and sweet and I usually eat it with a spoon. This recipe is really easy to prepare and children love it!
