To start preparing Gehun Ki Bikaneri Khichdi’s recipe, we will immerse the Gehun (whole wheat) in the water for at least 8 hours or overnight. Once soaked, drain the water. Blend the wheat in a mixer in a coarse mixture.
Add the imbentium wheat, Moong Dal and all the other remaining ingredients in pressure cooker.
Add 3-1/2 cups of water, add the salt to taste, cover the pot and let them cook until you hear from 3 to 4 whistles.
Turn the low heat after 3-4 whistles and cook over low heat for another 3-4 minutes.
Once done, turn off the heat and allow pressure to release in a natural way.
Heat pan To prepare the Tadka, once you have poured it over the Khichidi and serve hot.
