I have a new project that I’m going to tell you about today that I’m pretty excited about.
American royal
But first I want to wish good luck to everyone going to the American Royal this weekend. For those of you who don’t know, the American Royal is another world barbecue championship, just as the Jack is a barbecue series that is a championship. Well, the American Royal is too.
And there are two main days of competition. There’s the Invitational. So, if you won a major championship in a state competition earlier in the year, you will be able to compete in the Invitational.
You don’t have to worry about a cap like you do with the Jack or the entire draw. So it’s a lot easier to get into it, but it’s still difficult because you have to win a championship to get there.
Additionally, the next day is open, meaning any team from the country that wants to compete at the World Championships can do so.
Sometimes there are about 600, 700, 900 teams competing, all at Kansas City Speedway. It’s so exciting.
To kick things off, they throw huge parties like the biggest BBQ parties you could ever imagine. The alcohol flows. The music is blaring. It’s a beautiful moment.
I’m not going to the Royal this year, which I’m a little sad about, but I also hear it’s going to rain cats and dogs, so I’m okay with that. And that will make the breakthrough really difficult. Deliveries at the Royal are already difficult because you are so far from the main judges area, because it is so huge.
And now if you have to fight the rain to deliver your meat. It’s going to be really challenging, especially for people who come up as beautiful dessert trays for all those ancillary categories. Anyway, I’ll miss you guys. I will watch everything I can on social media.
I’m sure people will be live streaming the awards, so I’ll be sure to check it out. But yeah, good luck to all my friends out there competing, especially on the West Coast. I want to hear your names called. I know you have the skills and talent to do it.
Ninja grill recipes
So today I’m going to take a nice detour from competition barbecue. And I want to tell you about Ninja Grills. I actually participated in the Ninja Grills commercial and tested several Ninja Grills for the company, to give them my perspective as a pitmaster.
Not just a competitive pitmaster, but simply a griller: someone who enjoys grilling in their own backyard. And the first time I cooked at the Ninja Woodfire Grill, you’ll see in the commercial, I was really blown away. I really like the quality of cooking, the bark it creates and the speed at which it cooks.
It cooks faster than many regular grills and you can still get some smoky flavor because it uses some wood pellets that burn inside.
Even if the heat source is electric, wood pellets can create smoke if you want to add it, and it has so many functions. There is a smoke function. There is a grill function. If you just want to sear some great steaks. You could put a griddle in there and sear some scallops. Or it also has a crisp air to the fries.
It has a cooking setting. It has a dehydrator setting. There’s a lot of features in this Ninja Grill, which, you know, like everything Ninja does is basically like 7 in 1, 8 in 1. I mean, that’s just the kind of modus operandi that they like. It’s like a unique tool. Well, this is the outdoor grill. Well, they also have internal grills.
Solve a major challenge
One of the challenges I’ve seen from several BBQ owners is that there are a lot of websites out there, including GirlsCanGrill.com where you can find tons of BBQ recipes, but they don’t always focus on how to cook them on a Ninja. Grill.
While you could set your Ninja Grill to match one of those regular recipes and say, for example, cook it at 225F, the times will be different.
Some of the other nuances will be slightly different due to the way the grill works with its convection technology.
So here’s my big announcement. Starting today I launched a new website called Ninja grill recipes. This website is dedicated to recipes cooked on the Ninja Grill.
In addition to that, I have some courses, some videos that you can watch on how to put the grill together, how to use the grill, how to clean the grill, some of that basic stuff related to the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill and the XL grill.
I also have other videos on there just of recipes that I’m creating. Also there are now a couple dozen recipes and I will be adding recipes regularly. To top it off, there are also several groups and several group forums.
So if you become a member of Ninja Grill Recipes, you can choose which groups you want to be a part of. And then it’s kind of like having a Facebook page, but for your Ninja Grill. S
or you will have your profile, you will have your history. You can post your updates, your photos, things you’re doing, or you can go into forums, discussion boards and answer questions that other people might have.
Or again, you can share your recipes. You can ask questions if you’re confused about something and my team and I will jump in there and answer any questions we see we have answers for. But once again, the community will also intervene. So what I’m doing here is creating the entire Ninja Grill Recipes community so everyone can get smarter by cooking on their Ninja Grill.
Subscription Options
And it will help them become Ninja Grillmaster. Now, if you want to be a part of it, all you have to do is go to NinjaGrillRecipes.com. It’s that easy. You’ll see that there are a couple of different subscription options. If you want, you can simply sign up for the monthly subscription, which costs $3.99 per month, and will be billed on a recurring basis until you choose to cancel.
Or I have a special offer right now, which is a yearly package. And for the first 30 days, anyone who signs up to become an inaugural member will receive it for free, so they can try it for free. And then if you decide to keep it, you can sign up for an annual subscription for $36, $36 for a year.
This is a 25% discount on the monthly subscription. You will have it for the entire 12 months. Plus, you’ll have access to all the new recipes, all the new tutorials, all the message boards and the community.
There is so much information out there that you all have exclusive access to. So I encourage you to go to Ninja Grill Recipes if you own a Ninja Grill or if you’re thinking about buying a Ninja Grill, and that way you can join the community at this early stage before it’s gone.
Once the initial phase is over, the trial period will be substantially shortened. So I want to give you 30 days free access. Then go to NinjaGrillRecipes.com again and click Sign Up Today.
Girls can grill update
The latest exciting news I have is that all my products have arrived at the warehouse. Now we have brisket, chicken and pork all in Saint George, Utah. I’m finalizing all the shipping details with Patio Provisions and I think by next week, or maybe even before the next podcast comes out, they will be available on GirlsCanGrill.com.
All you have to do is go to my website, click the Buy button, and once they’re available, they’ll be there. And then you can purchase them and have them shipped directly to you.
And while you’re in my store, you’ll also see links to my hats and my cookbook, which is still available on Amazon.com.
And the last thing I want to talk about today is that I’m testing a new grill. Breeo is a smokeless fire pit. I’ve been cooking with Breeos for probably about five years.
It’s a fire pit low to the ground. You know, you sit around it with chairs, but it has this outpost attachment that has a grill that can raise and lower.
So I cook on it, like I said, for five years when I cook on high heat. Well, they just launched an open fire grill, that is
actually more like waist level. It’s fantastic. It has this really nice, heavy stand that it sits on and then it’s raised up. You can use your own outpost with that adjustable grill.
Additionally there is a straightener function. There is a potholder function, there is a hook for the kettle. So you can actually hang it like a Dutch oven or a kettle if you like to cook with the kettle. I’ve cooked on it before, I love it.
A couple of things I’ve noticed is that it’s best to cook with logs or charcoal, not briquettes.
Briquettes work well, but produce much more ash than lump charcoal. So if you plan to cook on this new Breeo high heat grill, choose charcoal or throw a log or two on it like a hickory or pecan log. Those are great. They taste fantastic. They offer a really nice smoke flavor. So these are some really interesting options.
Also, I love that it has adjustable shelves that fold in and out and are really sturdy. I can put a pan of meat on it very comfortably. There are tool hooks where I can hang my tools. A lot of thought has gone into functionality. Even under the shelves.
There are two shelves, one where you could, for example, stack all the wood or put the bags of charcoal, and one where you could put some of your accessories, the pots, the thermal gloves, different things like that.
So the whole design is really cute. And then, of course, I’ve always been a fan of the functionality of Breeo and so I’m really excited to have this addition in my backyard.
I think I have another new grill coming within the next week or so, so I’ll try it out soon and give you an update on that. And I’m continuing to test other grills that I can’t talk about yet. There really is a lot to do. in the courtyard of Girls Can Grill and many things to do in the Girls Can Grill store.
So as a reminder, make sure you check out NinjaGrillRecipes.com, if you’re a Ninja Grill owner or you’re thinking about purchasing a Ninja Grill, then make sure you go to my website GirlsCanGrill.com and click on the shop button because those spices i rub will arrive so soon. Alright guys, I know this was a short thing, but I have a lot of things to do.
